Purpose of this edition

The purpose of this project is to preserve the historic text faithfully while correcting OCR-related errors and clear typographical mistakes introduced through digitization, printing, or transmission.

This edition is not intended as a doctrinal revision, reinterpretation, modernization, or denominational rewriting of the historic text.

The guiding principle is preservation: correct what is clear, document the approach, and avoid unnecessary alteration when the evidence is uncertain.

Editorial scope

Editorial work is limited and preservation-focused. It exists to make the historic text usable in digital form, not to replace the character of the historic edition.

Preservation of the historic text is the governing principle.
Corrections are limited to clear OCR errors, missing-character restoration where the reading is evident, and obvious typographical or printing mistakes.
Chapter and verse numbers may be shown with Arabic numerals such as 1, 2, and 3 instead of Geʽez numerals such as ፩፣ ፪፣ and ፫ for navigation and search.
Uncertain readings are preserved rather than silently changed.
The project does not aim to alter the text in order to reflect later doctrinal preferences or modern editorial wishes.

Distribution and use

At this stage, this edition is distributed through the official app and website so that corrections, updates, and provenance may be maintained carefully and consistently.

Redistribution, republication, repackaging, or bundling of this text in other apps, websites, databases, printed materials, or software is not permitted without prior written permission.
